"Garrett Davis" (GarrettDavis)

I made it a rule for myself early on that a car's name has to come naturally to me, and I can't seek one out. For some of my cars that name came post mortem (or post ownership, I should say), or some never even got names in the first place. I didn't name Sheila up there until I had her for a while, and one day it hit me. She's white, kinda trashy, isn't afraid to get dirty, and is always ready for a good romp. (Sheila, darling, I miss you more than anyone should ever miss a vehicle. I think about you all the time. We'll be together in Jeep heaven one day, baby I promise. Hope you're doing well up there.)
Anyway, a name struck me for my ST the other day, and I think it fits her perfectly. Guys, meet Vivian:
She's black, sexy, has a big, but tight ass, is quick when she needs to be, but somehow can be very classy and mature when needed as well. Somehow Vivian seems to fit that description well for me.
My !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! was also black, had a sleek figure, and her name implied that she was a more classy lady than she was. I give you Shantall:
That's only three out of 10 or so cars I've owned that actually received names. The others never struck me with anything, I guess.
So what have you guys named your cars?

Current car: 99 Highlight silver Miata named Cookie all because of that stupid Chris Catan movie and my ADHD when I bought the car yelling "You guys want some cookies?" at my sister.
07 Black Fucus ZX-3 was named "The Black Rocket" because I got pulled over for understeering on an onramp and getting into the gravel and spraying a cops windshield. I didn't get a ticket but she chided me that my car wasn't a "wrx and I should stop driving it like a rocket ship."
96 Plymouth Grand Voyager: It came with the name Betsy which I helped name originally, but once I got the van the paint was faded so bad like my sisters old Caravan she became the Acid Van II.
My first car was a 91 Corolla named Suzzy the Shit Box. She had two 10 inch subs but the amp was half blown so only one worked and all the speakers were blown and she was a true to form ghetto blaster. It was amazing, we had a car show at school and I entered it in there and I made a cardboard body kit and everything for her. My other buddies entered their shitboxes and we all spent lunch running our motors cooking potatoes and hotdogs on our exhaust manifolds. . . Keeping Orange County California Classy I tell ya.

My friends decided to name my 95 Z28 Malamute, because of the exhaust (stock, mind you) was like the bark of something bigger than a dog but not a full wolf. These were non car people who named it, but it was good.

Current cars are:
1968 Triumph Spitfire Mk3 - Joey (name inherited from previous owner)
1987 Citroen 2cv - Mathilde - I have a french friend called Mathilde who hates the car, so named it after her
1984 Citroen Acadiane - Babs - numberplate starts B485 so looks vaguely like Babs, plus there's a comedy short called Acorn Antiques where the main character is called Miss Babs and drives one in the titles.
1977 SAAB 96L - Snertley - inherited name, the first owner was called Mr Hertley and the car is snot green.
2013 Mercedes SLK - King Fudgy - numberplate tenuously translates as this
Previous Cars:
2000 Fiat Punto - Jenny (it had a large rump like Miss Lopez)
2003 Honda Civic - Maxine (numberplate ended MXN)
2006 Honda Civic - Tron (it was the one designed using triangles in Europe)
2008 Audi A4 - Nikita again, numberplate related
2011 Mazda MX5 - Bingley - numberplate kind of spelled it
1987 Golf Cabriolet - Greta
So yeah, I'm really sad.

I'll admit that I did have one car, a VW Golf Mk II, that was christened Lederhosen . I never actually referred to the car by name, though. I've owned a number of cars but never anthropomorphized any of them.

I call my humble little red Honda Civic "Serenity". (I also like to wear brown coats and quote Joss Whedon.)
This has been the motivation for my purchase off pretty much all available Firefly car stuff - key chains, plate frames, etc. No bumper stickers, though.

The naming process involved lots of beer and two women. Not only is it a joke about color but also a double entendre... Y'know, in case you didn't figure that out ;)

Same with me actually. They get names if one just attaches itself.
The Spitfire is Idris, after a small dragon in a children's program I used to watch when I was young.
The Jag is Basil, after Basil Fawlty (when you put the hammer down, there's a moment where it makes you aware that this is not what a gentleman would do. If you press through it, it's as if it says 'RIGHT!' and then takes off. Just reminds me of Fawlty Towers).
None of the rest have names. The're just 'the Fiat' or 'the MG'.

Well between me and the other half, we decided that we'll always have one dull new car, then the other daily will be a classic, but with a classic, you always need a backup, and a backup for the backup and on it goes... we've reduced the total number down now though!
Currently 2 out of 5 are broken, but one is off being repaired!
