Like shopteacher hating on gps yesterday I've never cared for radar detectors. I feel the make you weak and numb your cop spotting senses.

Source: Only time I have ever gotten a speeding ticket was on the 4th of July with no surrounding traffic and a broken speedo.

I don't use mine and I live in Michigan.

It's smarter to just not speed to a point where you stand out. My trick is to get to the speed limit as quickly as possible so I'm not actually "speeding" and I get my speed kick in.

technically you can get a "improper acceleration" or even worse a "reckless driving" if you're out of hand, but that's a hard to prove ticket.

Damn that blows, I'll try to keep it moderate now. Not sure how prevalent "reckless driving" tickets are in NYC but I feel that everyone should get one in this city, it's a mad house.

I grew up not too far outside NYC in Morristown NJ. I know all about how insane the driving is in that damned city.

Also, note I haven't gotten one of those tickets, but I have had a cop catch up and look over and shake his head lol

Do you live in Northern VA? I've found you can usually cruise 10-15 over cause there will always be some guy in a BMW or Merc going 20+ over

I've never been pulled for speeding and never really let myself stand out. Cops just like to hide around here. VA police troopers are notorious for enforcing speed.

I usually do just that. 20 over is asking for a ticket. The cops are starting to do speed traps are traditionally fun roads, so lots of enthusiasts are getting caught out.
