Transportation related: the TSA now has something called airport precheck. Somehow, I ended up with that on my ticket. I got through security in 3 min without needing to take my laptop out or shoes off. ITS WONDERFUL

I've gotten it a couple times too, it really is awesome. It reminds me of the old days of airport security. When everyone kept their clothes on and there was no groping.

Yea usually they make you pay extra for the convenience. I once had a canceled flight due to weather but they were able to get me on a flight that was leaving in 10 minutes so they gave me the pre-check to get through quick. It was great.

Another reason to have kids. When you travel with most minors (I forget the age cutoff), you're given precheck free. If the lines are short at security in Denver, they often just let you go through precheck lines as well.

It's strange how easy one can get through security sometimes. I was late once for a flight from Barcelona to Munich, and when I arrived at check in they literally dropped everything and ran with me to my gate so that I would make it in time. Security? I literally had to walk through that metal thing and they looked into my bag once.

I did not as mine was due to a flight cancellation, but I believe its normally like $15. each way.
