Interesting details from this autosport article i hadnt heard before (note its a paysite,i'll mention a few things for those who dont want to bother).Toyota had worked out from telemetry what was wrong in the wiring loom of their leading car.It would have taken only a few minutes to change it out but it melted before it could get back to the pits.As the boss said,their fault it went wrong but bad luck where it happened.
They also made some comment about their night pace.They insist they had no problems,they were just avoiding silly risks
