Hey Oppo, we (Dad and I) have a dilemma. Which of the following two cars is easier to fix, cheaper to fix, and more likely to break? Also what would be your choice?
#1 2006 VW Polo GTI
#2 2005 Fiesta ST
Go!

Vw because of aftermarket. I've only worked on the first gen polo, god that car was amazing. It was an ex-race car with a gutted interior and built turbo. Lighter then an Elise with around 220 hp. Still thinking about importing one to the states.
Tl;dr get a polo because I no longer have access to one.

I'd have neither, truth be told - a contemporary RenaultSport Clio would be my pick - but I imagine the Fiesta is a good deal cheaper to fix - if you're in the UK, at least, Ford parts tend to be quite a bit cheaper than VW parts - and no more likely to break. I honestly have no idea how easy either would be to work on, but I suspect the Fiesta's engine bay is quite cramped; that two litre was originally intended for a Mondeo, after all.
Of the two, I'd probably go with the Fiesta - it's supposed to be quite a lot more fun to drive - but, as I said, if it were my money, I'd get a Clio. Or something from the nineties, like a 306 or 106 GTi.
