My new job is down the street from the BMW dealer where I bought my 135is. So every day I drive my BMW right past the BMW dealer where I bought the thing. I can't escape. But I do get to make note of anything new and slightly interesting that shows up on the lot. Like this 435i M Sport Gran Coupe.
It's been there for at least a week, but I haven't felt like walking over there from work while they're open, because then someone's going to come out and want to sell me a car when really I'm just screwing around after work.
But I work late on Mondays, so last night on my way home from work I got a couple potato cam shots after the place closed. No pesky interacting with dealership employees needed.
Now sure, there's no real reason for the 4 GC to exist. It's a bit lower and swoopier than the 3 series, with less headroom, a halfway decent but not as roomy back seat, and a more-useful hatchback. But despite its lack of purpose, I kinda like it anyway.

It looks more like a slightly flattened 3 series. It was parked between a 320i sedan and a 428i coupe. Overall dimensions were almost identical to the 428i. The shape of the roofline looks almost identical just with different doors and the hatch instead of almost-fastback coupe.

I would buy this now over a "conventional" 3 series. There's something about that hatch... You're right in that it has no reason to exist, but I love that it does!
