an un-restored 1971 KPGC10 Skyline GT-R
This Hakosuka has only 26,000 KM's.
THATS ONLY 16000 MILES IN THE OLD MONEY
Is it worth the starting bid of

I wonder what a Kenmeri would go for if that is what this is up to. I guess considering the mileage it is acceptable, but I think it is still a bit high. I just hope it goes to a home that will treat it nice and not be a dickbag with a bunch of money that is going to hack it up. I think R34's are more rare than the KPGC10's but I can't remember the production figures right now and I'm not going to look them up.

I could see around 100k maybe, but that seems steep. Then again, that S20 engine by itself is probably worth half that so who knows. The thing with old cars is that they are worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

I think it's worth every dollar.

the Hako's aren't usually that high, normally 50-60k from what I see. Though perhaps they were Hakosukas with L20/L28's dressed up to look like proper GT-R's. It's hard to tell without pictures through Yahoo Japan as some translation gets missed
Here's another '72 Hakosuka GT-R currently sitting at half the price.. but with 4 days left to go in bidding who knows how high it will get.
Import Monster
Heaps more R34 GT-R's were made. just 1,945 C10 Hakosukas in 4-door and 2-door were made. A total of 12,175 R34 GT-R's in various trim were made. Individual specials like the M-spec of V-spec are included in that number.

According to my currency converter that would be $156,904.87 USD. Even with the buy it now of 20 million Yen that's a pretty good price.

good catch, I just checked again and my converter mistakenly gave me the result for Yuan to USD instead of Yen.

Most Hako's you see at 30-60k are 2000GT and 2000GTX's dressed up to look like GT-R's. If you see a badge that looks like this:
...That's the owner having some fun with it. It's a GT-Kai emblem. If you have a modified car in Japan, your registration will be stamped with that 'Kai' character. So it's like saying 'GT-Modified'.
I true GT-R has a 'P' in the chassis code. KPGC10 vs. KGC10.

I think it's what you meant, but that 1,945 were the GT-R's. There were several hundred thousand total Hako's produced in their 4 year run. They also made a 4-cylinder short nose variant that was available in sedan, coupe, and wagon form. The wagons are particularly rare.

I'd hazard that an unmodified Hakosuka is probably the rarest skyline of them all.

Probably right there...I've only seen a couple nice, totally stock ones. This was on BaT this morning:

If you check out Goo-Net, there's a couple more, but stock is definitely rare.

oh yeah, the Skyline Australia forums seem to say 310 thousand C10's in total. R34's were around 64k, even with Laurels and Stageas on top of that it wouldn't come close.
I wonder how many are left though,

Price is ok. Too high for my budget but still ok. I usually compare "collector car" prices to similar new ones. If the old one is cheaper then it is ok. GT-R is slightly more expensive here (yeah, it wouldn't be in US). And the price of a new car will drop like a stone until they get to be old enough to acquire some collector value. But for many car that doesn't happen.
New cars can be bought if you really want them. Old models in good condition you can only find if you are lucky.

Nice! I think I'd prefer a 4-door too. That r ed 2-door linked below it is the only Hakosuka I've seen in the flesh. At least I'm pretty sure it's it, I don't think there's another red one in the country.

If you can reasonably predict that this will take the path the 2000GT has over the past decade I would certainly say it would be NP.... At the worst I don't think the market for these or anything GTR is related to drop anytime soon.
