Took the opportunity on lunch to change out the air filter on my caddy. During the course of doing this I both ruined the old one, as well as tore the rubber around the new one and rip an small part of the filter.. ugh. Heres to hoping no codes get thrown on the way to buy another one becaude of ripped one...

other than that there is no practical reason for one on this car. As is even with a cheap fram the northstar gets more than enough airflow than it needs even at WOT. The chance of smaller particulates entering the egine goes up which cam cause unwanted excess wear on internal components. I just need to be more dilugent this time. Problem was it started to rain an I rushed it. Ugh nothing good ever comes from rushing shit.

Unless your car sucks a bird past the MAF its not going to throw a code just because the rubber around the edge of the filter is a little torn.

How do you even do this? I can't imagine it on any panel filter.
