The dealerships have been no help with this question (and can I just say that by and large, VW salespeople know less about their product than any other manufacturer I've visited? Seriously, Bob) about the upper trim levels.
Is it possible to get an SE with plaid, not leather, seats? Because if you're going to drive a GTI why the hell would you want some same old same old black leather seats when those sweetass plad numbers are available?
When is this car actually supposed to launch, anyway? Local dealers have been getting one a week with no firm date for actual launch. Asking many thousand over sticker, too.

Here is what I have gathered so far...you can only get the plaid on the S (base model) it has "launched" but not officially because not all options like the Performance Pack is available yet. Also, asked VW directly a few questions and they have been pretty helpful with the answers. This dude is head of product development or something-
