Have you ever noticed that with F1 or NASCAR, it's all about the drivers but in LeMans the only thing people care about is the cars?

more than one driver per car makes it difficult to stand out over a 24 hour period unless you generate a legacy like Jacky Ickx

That's a facet of endurance racing. When you're not the only driver on a team, you become just another cog in the machine.

Partly because you have a team of drivers for LeMans. In F1 and Nascar since there is only one driver for each car it's easier to market the driver and not so much the car or the team.
