The window switch blew'd out and its hot and I like to drive with windows down. New ones are expensive so for like 20 bucks total including the wire and spade connectors and junk I made this retro switch dealy. I used a old piece of diamond plate and that was a bad idea because even though I used the smooth side it took forever to level it out sand out the scratches and get it polished out but hey it was free!
I might be adding switch guards depending on how many times I slam my elbow into the switches.

That looks sweeter than a mug. Hell yeah for old school analog switches.

Need those toggle switches with the cover so you feel like you are about to hit the NOS!!!

Very neat, but you're going to regret making that out of metal when the sun hits it all day and you rest your elbow/forearm on it.

Analog switches have been "you'll shoot, er, poke your eye out!" territory in the US ever since the early 70s. The only way the MINI gets away with them is the rib next to them and a lot of prevaricating with the authorities.
A lot of the old Brit classics were spoiled in the US not only by having crappy bumpers, but big plastic rocker switches.

Nice. My Miata is old school-er, I have to crank the darn windows by hand! How primitive. That reminds me, I still have to adjust the windows so I stop getting waterfalls into the car when it rains.

In an event such that you are pinballing around your interior with such force that you bang your eye on an analog switch, I would reckon you have far more serious injuries (and far less car left) to worry about.

It's like a metal shift knob. It'll either burn or freeze the fuck out of your hand.

I see a miata! Can you do a write up? I want toggle switches for my windows but its pricey for a pre-made kit.

That looks great! You did a good job with that plate. Switch guards would look badass, but depending on what kind you get, they might hold it in the down position.

then it would be perfection.
Still pretty good though.
