Sad news indeed. Automobile used to be one of my favorite auto mags, and Ezra's contributions were one of the leading factors in why I liked it so much. Car & Driver just gained a very talented writer, same with Popular Mechanics.

One of Maine's finer exports right there. Best of luck to him

Goddamnit. The best rag left has been reduced to a pile of rubble, although it sounds like it's happening rather intentionally and will be no more here shortly. And yet Motor Trend lives on...

I'm a little concerned for Automobile magazine. On the one hand I believe it will be in good hands with Mike Floyd. I've met him and he gave me a nice tour of Motor Trend. However, they are losing some key talent. Part of me wonders why they just don't eliminate one or the other magazines. Since they're shutting down Automobile in Ann Arbor, why bother? Of course, Automobile is slightly higher end and offers more travelogues, etc... I met David E. Davis when, as a curious 18 year old, I poked my head into Automobile's Ann Arbor HQ. He created a special culture. Now that culture is gone, I'm just not sure what the new Automobile will bring.
Good luck to Ezra. I'm sure he'll do well at Car and Driver.
