Dayum, Jetta wagons look surprisingly good in gold, I'm actually surprised I like this paintjob

Corvette C4 OEM wheels. It's a popular mod. VW guys like putting OEM wheels from completely unrelated cars on their GTIS/Jettas for some reason.

Apparently VW guys love salad shooters and even old Mercedes wheels on their cars.

Definitely Corvette. Someone posted a picture of an E34 wagon with the same wheels on it.

Eh. I think they work fine.

The stance doesn't bother me, but that stretch on the rear is making my brain hurt.

I'm too old for this shit... I thought stance was just tight fitment, ride height, and camber. Is stretch required as well?

Those are also C4 Corvette wheels, but they aren't the same as the ones on the Jetta above. Early C4s had 16" wheels with flatter, thinner spokes that point forward. Later, facelifted C4s had 17" wheels with fat, curvy spokes that flow rearward.

Haha you think that's low man? And they are sawblades/salad shooters they come off of older Vettes.

The stretch combined with camber gives you more clearance from your fender. So you can go lower.

Stance guys love these wheels. Wide, cheap, small Diameter, It's like they we made to go on a slammed Econobox.

I ninja-edited that they're different sizes as well, which I never noticed until now. TMYK!

And the '88-'89 C4s had ugly 16" 6-slots or slightly better looking optional 17" 6-slots that became standard in '90.

None of them will fit on your Safari.

They are staggered, and directional wheels... those early C4 16" wheels can be swapped left for right, to sweep back, rather than forward. 16x8.5 front, 9.5 inches wide in the rear.

Luckily 5 x 4.75 is so close to 5x120... it is actually 5 x 120.7... probably close enough to fit, perhaps with wobble-lugs to accommodate tenths of a millimeter difference. (sort of like the difference between 5x4.5/114.3mm vs. 5 x 115mm... just tenths of a millimeter off.)

I think the early C4 wheels are good looking, especially when painted... but then again one of my favorite wheels is the Manaray Turbina S... which is very similar, with some extra cooling slots, and a concave face. Long since out of production, though.
