Last tires I bought were for the metro at $65/ea and last ones for jeep & wifes car were used with rims & good tread. Well that was a couple years ago. 235/60/R17
They are getting old (mfg '09) and flat spotting causing vibrations. I'll need something that'll last a few years and hopefully 40-50k.
The plan is in the fall to get some winter tires installed on stock steel rims so the alloys can have all seasons or summer tires. 05 equinox FWD

According to TireRack.com, the 05' Equinox came with either 235/65R16 or 60R17. Assuming the 16" wheel, and assuming you like good quality tires, get the Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring.

If you have the 17" wheel, then get the Michelin's.

Not sure what size exactly you're looking for, TireRack says there are 2 sizes for the 05 Equinox but the General AltiMAX RT43 is the number 1 rated tire in the Standard Touring All-Season and is $98/tire for the 16" wheels on a 05 Equinox.

I've never really liked General. I've always thought of them as a pretty rough riding tire, mostly used on trucks.

no idea what we got, but the wife's Rav4 got some eco/fuel economy tyres put on this month, and the drop in road noise and increase in fuel economy has been DRAMATIC! well worth it. Likely would impact offroadability, but... can't remember the last time it even got onto gravel

I tried to pick a cheaper one. Also, I figured if it was the number 1 rated, it couldn't be that bad.
That being said, I have General Altimax Arctics and they're a solid meh but it was hard to go wrong with the price.

OMFG! the flat spots on the tires make it so loud! I glanced at Eco tires and she gets between 17-20 mpg, horrible, so if anything can help, yeah that I'd be great mhmm.

I really liked the Yokohama Geolander H/T-Ss I had on my old pilot. Not too expensive at about $130 a piece from Tirerack, and good performance! Just don't get Dunlop Rover H/Ts. Horrible aqua planing issues.

bridgestone dueller h/l, all seasons desiged for highway and suburban, so yeah probably terrible on anything not smooth. got them from costco was $640-ish mounted with fees etc
