I have no idea. I was just contrasting modern ugly engines to older more beautiful engines. At least when viewed from above in the engine bay.

Here's what the SHO engine looks like without the plastic. Clearly, they weren't too bothered with making it look pretty.

I remember watching a video years ago when Ford invited the SHO club to see a pre production SHO, and one voice in the crowd as the hood was lifted "Give us more stuff to powder coat!"
