"M-Powwerr Drives a Ford" (straight6fun)

Good Morning Oppo, I know some people know kind of know who I am, but anyway I am M-Powwerr, and I suppose I am the future of car culture. Being 15, I've seen the classics and the modern cars and I can tell you, I would much rather DD a BMW Bavaria with no A/C then a Fully Loaded Avalon. Not to say there aren't 'cool' cars today that will likely be classics (almost every Porsche, ST twins, FT-86, BMWs (though I don't know about the current ones, etc) but no 'regular' cars (sub $35,000 family cars) I can think of will be.
In a world flooded with Beige it saddens me that this:
Used to serve the purpose that this now does:
I blame it somewhat on regulation and mostly on buyers taste, If people wanted an exciting car they would buy an exciting car, and now automakers have largely stopped making mainstream 'cool' cars because beige sells.
In case you are interested, here is the link to the car show:

Unfortunately it's today's consumer. "Good enough and the cheapest possible price" is the way of buying 95% of everything today. Look at the computer market. Cheap PCs fly off the shelves (and into closets 3 years later because they sucked). If I can convince somebody to get a good computer up front, 6 or 7 years later they are still using it!
There will always be a small percentage of buyers who have reasons to look for something better, but the majority just wants something cheap and don't care where it's from or anything else.
My mother (over 70) really wants a bicycle and has for years, but she lives in a 3rd floor condo and has no place to keep it besides her car. The other day she calls me - "I bought a bike will you come help me put it in my car" ??? Okay? Come to find out she bought it because it was $69. The store assembled it and called her a few days later that it was ready to go. It was too big to put in her car. She doesn't want to spend the money for a "good" bike that would include a quick disconnect on the front wheel, or actually be the right size for her, nor spend the money for proper bike rack, which would let her keep it in my shed at least. It didn't fit in her car, so she had to return it. Thanks mom...

I think you might be wrong. There are a few modern GM cars that will and already are classics. 94-96 b-body Impalas are pretty much collector cars. Go check ebay. Price a 96 with 30k miles or less. I think the G8 will also be a classic at some point. You are right about beige selling though. It has always bothered me how Toyota gets a pass around here. Before the twins the last interesting car they made was the Supra.

I didn't even think of that, and maybe the new chevy ss will become a classic too, it is a large v8 Rwd vehicle, the one thing GM can't screw up, and it is a classic formula

Oh, I would say there's a few family sedans out there that beat the beige trend:
On another note, welcome aboard! It's good to have another sub-millenial on here. I'm one of them, and I'm sure you'll meet everyone else in good time.

Sorry, but I'm not that hardcore.

It's true, the best selling cars are unbelievably boring.
Because most people don't care. But there are still option out there for those of us who do.

That is all climate dependent. Where I live we only get 10-11 days above about 86 degrees per year. Living without A/C is easy. Hahaha.

wasn't the Vue/captivia an Opel anyway.
Opel is automatically not beige because they sell diesel manual wagons

They sell the Antara (Vue) in with a manual and a diesel. Pretty cool IMO.

I suppose so, but you know what they say about close enough though
"Close enough is only good for horse shoes and hand grenades"
Just kidding, RWD in a Vue wouldn't really be useful for the target market

But what's the most popular family sedan...Camry
Always a F***ing Camry

And styling is not timeless like it used to be.
