I am now K-Roll-PorscheTamer-JrEngineer! And I have some "Of Happenings" for you!

First off, I've decided to change my name for the following reasons:

1. I'm going to school for Mechanical Engineering

2. I'm starting to do my own work on the 911, getting my hands dirty!

3. This one was crucial, I couldn't change my name to "K-Roll-PorscheTamer-FoSTDriver-JrEngineer"(Damn 30 character limit)

So yesterday, as some of you may or may not no, I couldn't get the 911 running, so I decided to pull off the airbox and see if there was anything wrong with it; my first time working on a car!! :D

Here's what happened!

Here's what the engine looks like with the airbox on(the giant black box).

It's held on by two rubber straps and latches; a simple unlatch and remove done in about 30 seconds and this is what you see.

I have to check tonight to see if the airbox is cracked from the engine backfire that occured last night; hopefully it's not!

Here's the top half of the box with it's horn-like shape, and the air filter:

Looks pretty clean doesn't it?

Later tonight, I'll be pulling the spark plugs out and testing the lines for vacuum leaks to find out while the engine won't run, so I'll probably update this or make another post tomorrow.

Also, I was talking with my neighbor down the street from me that's selling a '77 Vette 4spd auto for $7200; it's been resprayed a very nice red, has a bored-out motor, and a brand new interior. Oh how I'd love to have one as a summer daily/cruiser. I'll make a separate post about it later, but that's what's up Oppo! :D

I think there is an easier way. I think Porsche writes the paint name somewhere on the car. I just have to find it.

I just learned today that SC stands for Super Carrera!

Ze Forums are saying it's either Slate Blue or Venetian Blue, but they need another pic in a different lighting to be sure; either way, very sexy, much want. :)

Hmm I went to Google Image search and it doesn't look like either.

But I found "Iris Blue" in ze search. It looks exactly like this one:

Kinda like how I thought mine was Orange when I was three and continued to say so until I was 6. :P

Sometimes when I look at the car after a nice wash, it looks a tad bit orange to me...

It probably does have a bit of orange in the paint mix

Scuderia Rosso is a Ferrari color that mixes a bit of orange into the red
