So I've got my fancy Fox coilovers installed, but the front is sitting much lower than the rear. PROBABLY need heavier springs, but in the meantime, I figured I'd crank up the adjustment collar a bit since there's still a lot of room.
Except nothing will make this thing budge. I've tried using spanner wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers... it will not turn.
It seems odd that a brand new coilover would be so hard to adjust. Any thoughts?
EDIT: Got it figured out. After sufficient hammering and cursing, whatever was holding the threads seemed to "pop" and then it turned with relative ease.

new coilovers didn't come with a tool? does the adjusting ring have a set screw or lock ring?
sorry, pic didn't come up first time. set screw?

They did not! Very odd. I have some spanner wrenches from the last set, but they're aluminum and nearly worthless.
There is a set screw that tightens the collar, but it's loosened all the way.

is the spring compressed? very odd that it didn't come with a tool. might need a nudge with a flathead screwdriver and some small hammer whacks. best to make sure it's not crossthreaded.

my bad, after expanding the pic, instead of a flathead, stick a couple of drillbits that fit the holes & give it a wiggle.

They should have come with some spanners to undo the lock rings. Have you tried turning the threaded housing its self? I don't know really as I have not played with shocks like those yet. Don't forget that you'll probably have to recheck your ride height in a few days once the springs settle. Maybe a call into Fox would be in order for you to get the most accurate help.

That's used often by guys who use Kings. I have remote resis as well and in the instructions it said not to tighten the coilovers when they're on the truck, only on a heavy-duty vise. If I had only the coilovers (no resi) it could be tightened on the truck.

Sadly, most don't come with the spanner anymore. You have to purchase it in addition.
