How's this for a commute?

Was testing out a phone mount I got for my HTC One M7, so I filmed my favorite portion of my drive to work this morning, in preparation for an autocross this weekend.

Stabilization is an issue, so I'll look into what I can do to modify the mount to improve that. Otherwise, I just need to clean my windshield so it stays in focus. An MR2 that's daily driven on the highway and dirt roads doesn't stay clean for very long. What do you guys think?

I don't always take that route, since it takes a little bit longer to get to work, and uses a lot more gasoline for some reason (I'm not sure why), but when I have the time and am in the mood it's great.

Thanks! It's definitely potatocam quality despite being 1080, but I think it has more to do with the lack of focus and stabilization issues. Once I get those squared away I think it'll make for a pretty great budget dashcam.

Yeah i was thinking about buying 2 phones and some mounts (front and rear) that take miniSD cards and use them for dash cams.

Not a bad idea, my main concern was their battery life though. It didn't seem hard on my phone, but for extended use as a dashcam they would definitely need to be charged often. My goal was to just have something for special events, although I really want a dashcam as well.

One of my friends pretty much strapped his phone to the rearview mirror and that seemed to produce pretty good results!
