While I assume most everyone here drives; I wonder who here rides in the passenger seat or in the back seat. This question is especially for those of you who have a significant other or a spouse. I never ride. The number of times my wife drives and I ride is probably less than 10 times on an annual basis. It might be less than 5. I also make a horrible passenger. On the plus side I'm an expert back seat driver.

I rarely do. When I go out with friends I usually drive. I like driving too much to let other people do it.

As much as I like driving I think i hate riding more. Usually the people who I ride with didn't enjoy driving while I was riding.

She drives her vehicle, I drive mine. We tend to take hers more often if the family goes somewhere together.

I usually try to drive, especially since most of my family is pretty bad at it. I stopped minding riding with my wife after I sent here to a rally class. I feel much more comfortable since she's clearing paying way more attention now than before.

Drive a standard. Wife can't drive standard. I drive 100% of the time.

I loathe city driving (we live close to downtown), so unless we're headed out of the city, I'm perfectly happy for my wife to take the wheel. Plus, she's far more competent in snow and ice than I am. No complaints.

The only time I'm a passenger is when I'm drunk. Any other time, I insist on driving. I despise sitting idly by while somebody else drives.

I ride semi-often.

We're a 1 car family right now, and that car is how she gets to work. When we go to day-care, the car's already set up for her (we have VERY different dimensions) and this car was bought with her being the primary driver (95% of the time) in mind.

On longer trips or solo trips to McDonalds, I drive quite a bit . . . but I ride more than half the time in the car.

Should we get a second car, we'll see how that works out. A second car would be *my* car.

Yeah even despite the difference in dimensions I still drive. Every time I get in her car I feel like I need to first amputate my legs. Wife is 4'11 1/2" (when you're 4'11" that half inch matters). I'm 6'1"

I drive everywhere unless I'm drinking. Even early on in our relationship my wife wanted me to drive.

ERRRMAGERRRD! Feel you! I'm 6'5" and she's 4' 10". She says "I'm four ten and three quarters" and I respond with "That's because you have 75 cents in your pocket." Then I stand on a stool.

True story. 'Cept for the part about the stool.

Manual adjustment - no memory seats. Adjusted every time one of us drives.

Yeah and you have to adjust it from the outside to get in the car in the first place. I leave the side mirrors alone in her car and she pretty much never drives my car.

I have trust issues and don't like to ride. I will drive myself 9 times out of 10. It also gives me an option to leave somewhere whenever I want... Which I probably exercise more than I should.

Oh there's that too. I never let myself show up somewhere where my wife and I are both beholden to someone else's time schedule. no no no no never no never ever no.

I only ride when I'm being picked up somewhere by her. No reason to swap out and adjust everything. If we're leaving from the house I drive 99% of the time. The only other time I ride is when we've got another couple in the car. Girls up front with the seats pulled way forward and guys in back is a more comfortable seating position for everyone.

My wife is such a horrible back seat driver that I prefer not to drive with her riding.

I drive primarily, unless she's sober driving or I'm worn out on a long roadtrip. My night vision isn't as good as it used to be...

Occasionally when we're taking her car (the family ride), she'll drive just so I don't mess up her seating position/mirror/belt.
