...right over my building at work. Needless to say, I got some photos on my iPhone. I use my phone to stream radio at work so I missed a lot of really close shots. Close enough that I could clearly read "US NAVY." These are the shots I got. It is supposed to storm on sunday so I hope to get some real shots then but don't hold your breath.

Latrobe, PA. It's south of Pittsburgh. The airport is named after Arnold Palmer because it is his hometown.

Oh, so do I. I fear, however, that the all too British nature of the town in which I live may make all such hopes naive at best.

That's rough. We are supposed to get storms Sunday but we will be going anyway. I love fighter jets and I want my wife to see a C-130 because I used to jump out of them. :-)

I just read the article. I hate to break it to the press but this isn't news. I don't think sexual harrassment is ok. This is standard practice for military units, though. Had it been some random infantry unit, no one would ver have heard about it. Again, I don't condone the behavior. It just isn't surprising or a rare occurrence.

Yeah, I ran into town yesterday afternoon to watch them do the photo pass. Hopefully I'll get to see the show on Sunday.

Question for people better informed than me:
Is it not technically illegal to be performing stunts over populated locations with the exception of airshows?

Is that in Pitts? Looks like maybe PNC Park?

I don't think so. Especially not military personnel. I'm not a pilot, military or otherwise, but I don't think there are any laws against hooning a plane. Maybe if you randomly decided to do some loops and rolls right outside an active airport... that might get you in trouble.

From the glass-lined tanks of old Latrobe....

I know there are strict flight plan laws around here in the DC metro area. You have to declare a flight plan and you have a lot of no-fly zones. I just thought I remembered reading somewhere that, in order to do things like rolls and loops, you had have the appropriate license and you had to do it somewhere away from masses of people.
Obviously, the military doesn't fall under that.

Yep, took the T over. I was trying to get the Angels against the city skyline, but they weren't flying that way.
