All the needs, not wants. I need it.

like it needs new tyres to sit around in a glass cage anyway.
Lets leave one of the best drivers cars in a garage where nobody enjoys it!

I like where he said he intentionally drove it 100 miles a year.
*cries*

I'd rather have one that I could leave in a McDonalds car park without having to hire a security guard to keep people away from it.
I understand the idea behind keeping it pristine, and thinking of it as an investment. I just don't agree with it.

Nor do I. The only time I'd do anything close to that is when I have more than one of the car, and they are SUBSTANTIAL investment cars. (think Ford GT)

I just used your cars as an example in this very thread.

But I know that's not why you bought them.

Definitely not initially but the black one has kind of turned into that unfortunately.

That's a shame since (I assume) it's not like you needed it to gain a bunch of value. I guess money does make things more difficult.

Well it's one of those things where I wasn't driving the car very much because I preferred my blue one and still had to drive my other cars at the time, so unintentionally it became the low mileage car. For instance, at one time, I had the 2 GTs, a GT3 RS 4.0, Carrera GT, and DBS, not to mention our "regular" cars. That being said, I have put over 5,000 miles on it in the last 2-3 years so it does get used at least a bit. I don't know at this point, I may end up selling it because I feel bad not using it knowing that others will.

And the biggest issue with buying a car like this is that you would kind of be wasting money if you didn't keep miles off it. Because why pay a big premium for a basically unused car and then start using it? You could buy a car with 20K miles on it for a lot less. I know that increases the chances of it having gremlins but a good PPI can reduce that risk a lot.
I feel like paying a premium for a time capsule car only makes sense if:
1. It was an ultra rare car. Let's say a US allocation of under 200 units (all model years).
2. It's a car that's already started appreciating.
3. You're going to hold it as an investment and not drive it much.
4. You already have another sports car you really like that you drive whenever you want.
The last item is important to me as it would be so frustrating to have a time capsule car if you don't have something else you love to drive!

I agree with all of your points. I know I definitely couldn't resist driving cars that I own.

We need to make more money so we can each buy two F430 16Ms. That way one can be time capsuled and one driven :)

I like the way you think! Did I ever tell you that one of my best friends has a Nero 16M? Just a gorgeous car. I'm going to call him and see if we can meet up so I can reacquaint myself with it. Haha.

You showed me a pic of your buddy's 16M but I can't remember if it was Nero. How many friends do you have that currently have a 16M?
Man this one is nice. Black is so much less boring with a yellow stripe and yellow brake calipers!

It was probably this car as my other friend has a Bianco Avus one. I only know 2 people with them.
I agree. The yellow brakes against the black paint looks absolutely stunning. However, he went with white stitching for the interior which wouldn't be my chose personally.

That is pretty cool that you know two people who have the 16M. There might be 125 of them in the US. If you and I buy them too one day then you'll know 3.2% of all US 16M owners :)
I would have gone with yellow stitching on this car to keep the yellow accent theme consistent.

Yeah it is. I've been very lucky to know some great people.
That would be pretty cool. Another option is that we could pool our resources and go on a hunt to acquire all 125 of them. Then we would own all of the 16Ms in the U.S. and could build a museum for them. Haha.
As would I.

Haha I was once joking with Brian S about that very plan.
We totally need to corner the US market of 16Ms. Put them in a museum and charge admission. Then slowly sell cars off at much higher prices.

Great minds think alike.
Exactly. U.S. customers would have no choice but to purchase from us. Haha

Brian needs to graduate and immediately become the CFO of a tiny startup in Silicon Valley that blows up and goes public so he can help finance this evil plan.
