Mark Higgins holds the automotive world record on the Isle of Man TT course. In 2011 he averaged a speed of 115.36 across the entire 37.75-mile course in a Subaru WRX STI. This week he is attempting to improve on his 2011 record with the all new, and mostly-stock, 2015 WRX STI.

Last year Ryan Douthit challenged Isle of Man TT record holder Mark Higgins to a run on the infamous TT course. Douthit, in a 2013 Subaru WRX STI Type UK leftover from the Fast and the Furious 6 film, Higgins driving a Subaru BRZ. It was a world record holder versus someone that is, at best, an average driver. Not exactly a fair fight, but a great perspective on just how challenging the TT course is in an STI.
