Stock, the MKIV Supra isn't really that powerful (today, atleast). What makes it great is the potential on the stock block.

There's this really somewhat arrogant guy in my school who thinks he's a proper petrolhead. Fortunately for me, he knows I'm a bigger one (but he'll never admit it).
One time, we were analysing a residential area in Geography to determine what kind of environment the houses were located. He asked me what car was in the driveway of a house - it was Rover 800, so I told him it was a Rover 800. He then immediately sticks his hand up, and with confidence and volume, gives his answer:
Mrs K, this is a rural environment since the people have a Land Rover and might have to use it to go off road.
I cringed so hard from second hand embarrassment that I was forced to duck under the table to relieve myself of internal pain.

Wouldn't taking off the chassis and putting a new one on with a new motor and new body kit basically be buying a car, taking it apart then rebuilding it with entirely different parts?

So much faster now!" were up there with "I'm just going to turbo my camry so I can beat a supra" in things I heard about from others but thankfully, never witnessed. I did overhear one conversation about putting a Vtec top end on a saturn SC to give it.....well, Vtec. But that kid's SC had the rear suspension literally fall to pieces after backing into a curb in the parking lot.

I just remember this kid who refused to show us underneath the hood of his mid 90's Camry (4 cylinder) because there were "some seriously illegal mods under there." He also bragged about how he beat Supras and Mustangs all day at his uncle's track.
