My friend and I got access to a warehouse and pulled in his lightly-modified 1967 Ford Mustang. I grabbed a couple of cameras and took a crash course in operating Profoto B1 strobes. We got a few good images – but don't look too closely. Focus stacking with a Leica M is heinous.
My favorite thing about this car is that he regularly cruises in it – it's not just stuck in some garage to gather dust on its pristine paint job.
My friend restored the whole thing. Paint, interior aluminum trim, shaved taillights - all done in his garage.
Stay tuned for a short film - and if anyone has any cars they want photographed, send em my way. I've got to find some more material to practice on.

That's some impressive photography! I think the last three pics are my favorites.

Those taillights are sexy, oh my god. I don't think I've seen any like that before.

Is this done in camera? How many exposures were used?

On the first and last photos, I took 10-15 exposures in each location, with various lighting and focal points - then I composited it together in Photoshop. Time-consuming, but really fun. The Leica is just hard because the focus mechanism on a rangefinder makes it trickier to do work like this.

I wish! I used to live in State College, but I'm in Utah now.
