I knew it was coming but I didn't realize just how brutal it would be. Those screams, man... Did you watch it with anyone else? It was almost worth it to see (name redacted) die just for the non-readers' reactions in our group.

I had read it years ago and was expecting it, but had a moment of celebration that it was changed for the show. The friends watching it with me grimaced in horror. I had to take a walk.

My reaction.
It was SO CLOSE. WHY. WHY DID IT HAVE TO HAPPEN THIS WAY.

I knew this guy was going to die one way or another, but that was effing brutal!
I watched the midnight airing and needed to go sleep right after the episode... of course I didn't, it would have been nice to have some puppy videos on-hand, to balance things out.

I had at one point thrown my hands in the air and exclaim that it isn't like the book. He was my favorite character, and I had hoped that they would deviate for him.

I played Call of Duty until 3am to shake it off. Still hasn't left me though.

What deviations did they do? I haven't read the books, so no spoilers, but did it happen significantly differently in the book?

Not significantly, but it has been quite a while since I read a Storm of Swords. I have fashioned my facial hair into that of Oberyn for the time being in remembrance.
