Ticks all of the right boxes, except for wagon, and girlfriend approval (but hey, she's dated me for almost 4 years at this point so I'm over trying to impress her with a car, especially as I drive a "definition of beater" 250,000 mile '98 honda crv)

probably NA because those look to be the cheapest

Any recommendations as to where I should look for one, what reasonable prices are, issues I should look out for, and an idea of what insurance would be like for a 21 y.o. Male with one or two minor speeding tickets on his record.

Hahah believe it or not, I've never had a car that was FI of any kind.

Turbo is actually a nickname from my friends that comes from (A) me being super ADHD, so I'm kinda all over the place and hyperactive. That and (B) I'm obsessed with anything that has an engine and will talk people's ears off about it. Idk which one actually started it, but it's pretty fitting nonetheless

ohh yeah, you shoulda seen it (haha) I had just left the Eiffel Tower with my girlfriend and wandering looking for food.

I see this pulled out halfway into the bus lane (all the traffic is diverting around it) I thought it was a corvette at first from a distance cause of the vents, but then I realized what I may actually be seeing and literally took off running down the road, and left the girlfriend sitting there very confused.

The owner (man with the sunglasses cleverly hiding behind the cabby driver in the first pic) was just chilling there drinking a beer with the scissor door open chatting with people. He even revved it for me and took off down the road when he was leaving, real cool guy.

That one car basically made my trip to Paris.

Hahah wow, Yeah the only forced induction car I've even driven was my friends '13 STI. Working with a turbo powerband is much different than the (primarily) japanese NA engines I've driven in the past

Yeah, all in all a pretty fitting nickname haha, the only thing missing is a FI car. Not that I have an issue with them, just growing up the cars available to me have usually been small and Japanese, so the miata seems like a logical next step

and yeah, no off switch whatsoever, it's a good thing my friends are used to it and are at least interested in some of the fast car knowledge I have. The girlfriend is less interested, but at least humors me, which I'm thankful for

good question, in my experience, the only time I get pissed off at people who talk about cars is when they refuse to accept that the stuff they're saying is wrong

case in point, the guy at my work yesterday who seemed dedicated to trying to convince me that the new 2015 impreza STI made 400 hp from the factory, and still had to look it up after I told him that the new STI technically isn't even an impreza anymore, and that it uses the exact same engine as the 2013, and only makes around 304 hp. Angers me to no end

But on the other hand, the only thing I love more than talking or reading and learning about cars and autos in general, is to be able to combine that and have intelligent gear head conversation, so I'd probably lean more toward the second option

I SAW THE SAME ONE 2 YEARS AGO! But my camera was dead and so was my friends so I didn't get a picture and I was upset about it for days. Then owner arrived and did a little burn out as he drove away. So epic.
