I bought Arma 3 recently, despite having very little gaming time nowadays.

For those of you not into military games, the Arma series are a handful of hyper-realistic military shooters. The situations the games take place in are fictional, but up until the recent installment, the weaponry and the forces have been realistic. What's more, there's a pretty good community of people developing new content for the game. There's nothing better than running a Trabant to absolute death through very immersive terrain, which brings me to my point.
This game is not just for military FPS junkies, but also for rally fans. Previous games had a handful of real cars, of many different nationalities. The only problem was an unrealistic driving physics engine, wherein a small bump was a launching pad into space. Arma 3 changes all that, with the fast cars in the game behaving more realistically than the previous installments.

Arma 3 takes place in the near future, and as such it features cars that are kind of like today's cars, but having a slightly more futuristic look to them. The options are fairly standard; hatchback, SUV, truck. However, there is one car that is absolutely batshit insane; a 400 kmh sport hatchback.
Yes.
It looks like this game is already getting a handful of people making rally-based content for it. That makes sense, because the island the game takes place on has enough real estate to hold an entire season of rallying within its friendly confines. Flat lands, pine forests, mountains, everything is included in it terrain.
2 fun stories; first, this game being a military shooter means I get to play it maybe one or two nights a week for an hour at most as a multiplayer military shooter. The rest of the time, it's running around in editor mode like a goofball for the enjoyment of my daughter. She actually attempted to pilot a helo the other night, with hilarious results. The most fun she has is watching her dad drive a 400 kmh car like an imbecile. One stage I created was a forest/mountain stage, and during the preliminary drive, I found out that one section would be best described as "right one 100 right nine over crest BEWARE CLIFF." I ended up in the trees 100 yards off-road, and she was on the ground laughing.
Second, there's nothing more fun than re-appropriating a rare civilian car in multiplayer to drive your squad around in, hearing the cries of terror from your squadmates as you hit 300 kmh on dirt roads next to cliffs. I was actually banned from a server for, basically, inappropriate rallying during a multiplayer game.
If any of you are into military sims and rallying, or want to just go crazy with the chance of an open-world rally game, check Arma 3 out.

I tried to talk my brother into doing this in the Arma 3 Breaking Point mod. Apparently it's severely frowned upon there.
