Kinja'd!!!

In a move that no one saw coming, someone actually bought a Borrego, and continues to drive it. In public.

Kinja'd!!!

From what I remember, they were actually pretty good for what they were, but they were just introduced at a very inopportune time. If you think about it, the Vision Video that's going out of business is kind of fitting for a Borrego to be pictured in front of. It's not like there was anything wrong with Vision Video. Times just changed, and video stores became irrelevant, just like body on frame SUVs.

Kinja'd!!!

In the end, a good idea is only a good idea if you get the timing right, and Kia was just a little bit too slow to the punch on bringing the Borrego to market.

Until we meet again, obscure late-2000s SUV...

Someone around here owns one, same orange color.

I like these more than I probably should.

If only the Borrego could have been as awesome as the Canyonero.

I think part of the appeal is that you can buy one with less than 75,000 miles for no more than $15k out the door. It doesn't try to be more pretentious than it is either, which is always a great thing.

A bit, but I don't think they're actually related other than being built by sister companies.

Despite all the blah, bad, mundane, whatever that can be said about it... it had a V8 option. So take that, Honda.

There is actually a ton of these in my home town. One couple that has one loves it. I tried to sell them a 2013 Durango but they decided to keep their Borrego b/c it's body on frame, and the Durango isn't.

People who love their Korean cars seem to really love them. I actually accidentally ended up in the middle of a lecture today from a guy who bought a Sonata and didn't understand why anybody would need a different car.

Then again, after driving the new 5.0 Genesis, I have a hard time understanding the need for a 5 series or E class, so maybe I'm a BMW owner who somehow turned into a Hyundai fan.

Our local Kia dealer brags about being able to service these. I guess since they were only made and sold for one year, parts and service are hard to come by.
