...and wtf was doing there the Italian dude? ... and what he'd do "volentieri" (most willingly)? ...so many questions and so little time!

Not much is known about this video: the NYP says it's an American dad who got angry with some street racers, others say it happened in Australia. The only common denominator is the quotation of the "pissed off dad".

judging by the aspect ratio of the license plate and the scenery (palm trees), its in a coastal city of the united states. probably southern california judging by whats on the horizon, I may be wrong though.

We can definitely rule out Australia. Wrong side of the road and the accent of the guy saying "what a dick".

Granted racing on a public highway is both wrong and illegal but throwing a rock at a car is criminal damage also. It makes him no better than the other guy. Two criminal offences don't cancel each other out.
Saying that I'd want to use the guy's head (that threw the rock) as a panel beater to take the dent out.

without a radar gun, I dont think the lamborghini was doing anything illegal until he sped off to get away from the "crazy dad" and even the illegality of that is questionable considering he had reason to fear for his life.

What Italian dude? Volentieri? Are you even referring to the video above?
Anyway, the video was also posted here yesterday . Like Denver_80222, I also assume it's in Southern California. American accents, it looks like SoCal, and they drive on the left in Australia.

Actually, the New York Post didn't say anything, it's a word-for-word repost of an article from an Australian news site.

Yes. At 0:14 someone clearly says "volentieri!" ... and I had no doubts that someone else already posted the video. This is a BIG blog, and it's a BIG Internet. But thanks for mentioning it. Not that it changed my world, though.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't mean to say that this post was a waste or anything, I just wanted to mention it.
And at 0:14, the person holding the camera says "What a dick" in a young male American accent. I guess that's what you heard as "volentieri".

No one said "volentierti", the camera man said "what a dick" which should be the natural reaction to this.

True. Though even if the Lamborghini driver was before the video, it's the guy with the rock that got caught on video and only the driver, as you say, caught speeding away from the incident. Doh!

Apparently it happened in Playa Vista, CA. Here's the general area . You can see the ball and tennis courts from the video. Residential on one side and green space on the other. If you pan left a bit you can see quite a few streets that are completely undeveloped on either side. Lambo guy was being a dick.

thats speculation, if this goes into the legal system (which I hope it will) they would have to prove that he was street racing, if all the evidence they had was this video, then they couldnt prove that and the only party to get reprimanded would be the guy that threw the rock.

Exactly, as I said, they would only see the cause of the incident being a guy throwing a rock at the lambo, leading to the car driving away at some speed (measured or not) rather than the driver being the antagonist.

It was definetely at the intersection of bluff creek drive and seabluff drive
look at the farmers market sign

correct, the guy throwing the rock didnt know that if that lambo was actually racing the sound of the engine would be 10x louder. he mustve thought that any car going a reasonable speed is has to to sound like a prius

Well, there's always the 'Exhibition of Speed' statute. Driving up and down a street enough times to get people to come out and film you is pretty much violating it to a T. I doubt any of it will go to court though. Lambo driver will claim it on his insurance as vandalism and maybe the insurance company will go after the rock dude in civil court. I doubt the state will waste their time going after either of them for criminal or driving infractions.

ya probably, also when is driving a lamborghini in public not an exhibition of speed.

If you're in a flashy car and you do anything to draw attention to yourself they can get you for it. In my experience it's used to get kids in ratty, noisy cars...I've never heard of someone over 30 getting a ticket for it. Exotic drivers might though.

Im all for intelligent answers, but my comment was a joke, I know of a the law and the usual suspects commonly in violation of it
