Not sure if this has been discussed much here or not (I've been off Oppo basically all day) , but what do you guys think about it? Personally, I'm honestly kind of disappointed about it, it looks great but without real performance upgrades, it just kind of leaves me thinking, "what's the point?"

Also, the fact that they slapped some STI logos on the car sort of irritates me. Branding a Subaru as an STI has always implied that there's performance upgrades, so seeing them on a car that's (essentially) the same as a normal BRZ, it sort of cheapens the image of what an STI is...

Anyway, what are your thoughts?

I haven't discussed it yet, and now I will.

It looks amazing , so much sexier than a stock BRZ.

However, that does not AT ALL justify the use of several STI badges. WTF Subaru?

Yeah, it's pretty damn stupid that they put the STI badge on.

To me, it's honestly kind of like throwing an M badge on a regular 3-series. It's just not really right. It just isn't the same.

Yeah, and BMWs been doing that left and right.

If you butcher your sub-brands like that, the public just blends everything together, and then the badges lose meaning. It's just not the right way to go about things.

It's the high fuel economy model. It has a lower drag.

Yup. The new version of the boy who cried wolf:

The car brand that cried "performance".

It should be called Series.Green!

This looks an awful lot better than the standard car ... but without even the option of more power (at least from the factory), it strikes me as kind of an oddball. Why can't they just buckle and give it 280 hp ... or at least offer doing so at the customer's explicit behest?

I think 280 is a really good power figure for this car. It's not too high, but it's the boost that I think it needs.

Only time will tell what their actual plans are for this car and what the future will be for it. As for the power bump being an option- it definitely should be. But for some reason, Subaru isn't being real great about offering different options...

(I'M LOOKING AT YOU, SEDAN ONLY STI!)

(Yes, I'm still bitching and complaining about that until they finally wise up and make a hatchback.)

Really, I think it looks worse. The skirts look weird, and the wheel are better than stock but still kind of funky.

I somehow knew you'd find this comment. I thought to myself, "should I put a 'sorry YSI' after my comment," but decided against it.

The good thing about oppo is that everyone knows that fact.
