They might actually be related, but I have no idea.
Question #1
My car is dieseling, and I don't know why. I have recently changed the plugs and had the timing adjusted to near perfection (read: CleverUsername's ear). Why am I still having problems turning my car off? For the past two months my turn-off procedure has involved shifting into 4th, pulling the parking brake, turning the key, and slowly letting out the clutch. It's getting really bad, and annoying. So, does anyone know what the problem is or might be?
Question #2
Just today I took the old girl out for a good drive, got hot, but the car seemed fine and the temp gauge is pretty accurate (when it doesn't stick to he top). So, I noticed that the throttle/throttle response was getting twitchy, and not just at minor pressure. I'm talking about holding the throttle at 1/4 or 1/3 and the car not keeping a constant rpm. This made me worried. Well, after more driving, the car can't even hold idle. I'm having to rev the engine at lights and down to stop signs so I won't lose oil pressure (I'm guessing). Now, when I went to start the car after it was sitting for a few hours. It gave me trouble, well more than usual. It sounds like something is loose under the hood. It's not a backfire, but something is coming out somewhere under the hood when I try to start the car. I checked and didn't see anything, but it's that common sound that sounds like a lot of pressure it being released from a hose somewhere. What is that? A few other weird things I thought I should mention. The exhaust is popping more that normal (sounds good, but not really). But, I haven't noticed any power reduction. Nor do I smell fuel. So, I don't know if fuel is actually going unburnt until the manifold of what. Also, at speed the car doesn't seem all that different, it's just a pain in the ass near idle.
Thank you very much in advance for helping out or just reading this. Hopefully I'm not up shit creek.

Maybe your Username's Ear was not so clever...

What car it is might help. I've had most of those issues caused by sensor issues.

#2 - sounds like your fuel is boiling. The line is getting too hot before it enters the motor. It's also would kill hot idle because its bubbling and expanding.
#1 - either garbage gas and/or timing is off. The timing could be off for the gas going through it. Try a can of octane booster to see if that changes the problem.

No, It honestly helped. CleverUsername is the owner of this . I trust him.

I will try the octane booster. I run regular gas and have been told that's just fine. That was my guess with #2, but why would I still have trouble after the car was sitting for a few hours?

what car is it? Carbed? It sound like a vacuum hose is cut or pulled off. This will raise the idle enough that you cant kill the motor due to it having a supply of lean air bypassing the throttleblades. You should really get a timing light as you can hurt the engine from preignition if too far advanced.

well because your motor first gets hotter right after you shut it off. So its still boiling gas for at least a hour, during that time your motor basically floods itself. I went through all this in my 68

Carbed, had a vacuum leak, but had it fixed.
