I just ordered a set of BC Racing coils, should be able to install them next weekend, before the first autocross of the summer. Pictures to come, for sure.

I want to know about this! I'm looking at a set for the HEMI Wagon, for about $1000. Thinking I'll do wheels/tires, and then order the coilovers and bushings and do the whole front end at once.

I can't seem to find many people talking about BC Coilovers other than they have them. I'm curious about the difference in performance, and autocross will certainly show it!

I am doing my own shocks struts and springs next weekend too! Moving back to OEM though because tired of driving lowered car on shit suspension...and not rich enough to afford good lowered suspension.

Now I am just looking to find a place to do the work. My driveway is sloped and I don't have a garage.

I will be sure to let you know. I did a lot of research on them, and they are one of the most popular names for my car. Really competitively priced, and supposedly comparable performance to the far more expensive sets. Couple of threads about them on car forums, notably a lot of guys on bimmerforums showing them some love for their M5 and M3 setups. If the German guys like them, I think they'll do great for my deuce; they're noted for being more comfortable than lots of stock setups, while providing the edge that you expect with coils.

I'll be doing bushings at the same time too, since I'll have to disassemble the suspension. My shocks are ancient, so I really expect to see a nice quality of ride bump. The dampening on the current setup is really bad. Otherwise I need to do my ball joints.

Nice! I looked at aftermarket shocks and springs, but my 93 has some of the lowest springs available already, and they came stock. I'm mostly looking forward to not having 20 y/o shocks in the car.

I'm not going to lower it quite as much as the picture, but the front end is going to be getting a good drop. Poor front lip.

I'll need to consult someone who really knows suspension inside out and backwards about this, but what I'm concerned about is that my wagon is about 4500lbs. Because of that, I can throw it into a corner, which it will dutifully go flying into, but the exit is really sloppy, and the back will just wag around, which is something I don't want. I want the rear to stay in line, but not be so stiff it's counter productive for the turn-in.

I'm thinking it'll be a combination of coilovers, wider tires, and different geometry back there, but that's why I'll need a pro to deal with that issue, because I don't want it to affect my daily driving or normal tire wear.

Higher spring rates is all you really need for a heavier car, 8k/6k is the recommended setup for the MR2, and it weighs 2700lbs. Wider wheels make a big difference in the handling of the car, so don't rule out staggered setups depending on your goals and how you use the car.

Yeah. My shocks and struts are totally shot. Cannot *wait* for the new ones to come. I am doing the fronts first, and then the backs later in the summer.

They probably were, I definitely forgot, for the same reason I'm about to mention: I'm on my workstation, and the originals are on my PC. I'll make a reminder on my phone this time, I leave work in 50 minutes.

Oh, he's doing much better too. On a walker now, metal rod/plate/screws in his right calf. Broken right thumb. On the long road to a full recovery.

I think I'm staying with springs with my build, but that being said I cannot wait to ride/drive this setup!

I will reciprocate with a blouch xtr'ed drive in a sexy wrxy

I think that a deal could be arranged.

I fought with myself over getting springs/shocks, vs coils. Ultimately what decided it for me was the complete adjustment I get from the coils in regards to ride height. I would have adjustible dampening on the koni yellows I was looking at, but nobody made springs that fit quite what I wanted that were readily available.

Really it just boiled down to being able to buy a set of coils for less than the koni shocks alone.

that's the choice I would have made.

I like the ride in my car quite a bit, it could be tighter, but more importantly the balance at the limit is glorious.
