"Steve is equipped with Electronic Fool Injection" (itsalwayssteve)

As many of you know, I work for an automotive aftermarket company that does a bunch of DIO stuff — mostly DVD players and leather interiors. Anyway, the drivers are all retired guys who just work to get out of the house — they drive brand new cars back and forth from dealers to the shop and occasionally run errands. They're a fun bunch, for the most part.
Anyway, one of the drivers was telling me about his brother — Jim Kaperonis, who built a purpose-built racecar called the Astari Proto in the 50s. He owned a restaurant at the time and there was an article about his "Blue Plate Special," in Speed Age magazine — probably about June 1959. From what I've gathered, it was an MG chassis with a supercharged Chevy 265 v8. He sent me a few scanned photos from the article but it's just too small and faded for me to read much.
S0 if anyone can find more information about this car, let me know. He'd really appreciate more information.

My father, Paul Ranson, worked with Jimmy on this car, providing the sketches for the aluminum body. My father wrote a short biography regarding that chapter of his life, and I could share ii if you’d be interested.
