DD: The Wagon, practicality yo.
Track: The Coupe, its just cooler.
Burn: The sedan, its just stuck in the middle. Good at both, but great at neither.

DD: Sedan. Can't stand the touring's side view and rear.
Track: Coupe.
Burn: Well, the Touring of course.

how do you justify tracking the sedan over the coupe?
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

Same performance, I just like the looks better and even though I would DD the wagon, that is not to say the M3 has to be exclusive for the track, so the extra practicality helps.

If the sedan has a longer wheelbase, it could possibly be stabler at higher speeds.

if it has a longer wheel base that would be added weight tho right?

It may have slower acceleration, but the longer wheelbase/higher stability may let the car carry higher speeds through the corners. That can sometimes be worth just as much or maybe even more on a track.

The coupe has a fairly long wheelbase anyway.

I am pretty sure the 4 series is all around wider suspension and lower, even for the 35i versions of both cars. So, for track days I would take the coupe 435i over hte 335i since it would preform better and also I would already have a 4 door by using the wagon as DD

DD- Wagon
Track- Wagon (Awesomeness)
Burn- The sensation that all of the track day bros in Miatas or Camaros will feel when they are overtaken by a car that can carry 3 kids and a medium sized dog.
