Does anyone have a good recommendation for some track gloves? I do not need Nomex or full race gloves. These will be for Auto-X days and public lapping days at say, Nordschleife.
Here some M pron for you:

My advice is to get a good set even if you don't "need" them. They're vastly better than the cheaper ones. You can usually find last year's model on sale somewhere. My friend just got a great deal on a pair of blue Oakley gloves on eBay I think. I recommend any glove that has external seams. Makes a huge difference in comfort. Also make sure you get the size exactly right - even if you have to order 2 pairs and then return one of them. They last a long time so it's worth buying a good pair that fits just right. You don't want extra material on your palm, or an awkward fit at the wrist, etc. I'm currently using the Alpinestars Tech 1-ZX and they're great. Stay away from the OMP, I saw a brand new pair rip the first time they were pulled on lol

Good info. Maybe ill pony up for a legit set. I just haven't found a nice lightweight set (think mountain bike lite) of gloves that tickle my fancy.

why not the official BMW M ones? Ive had them for years, and still buttery soft.

Well I don't know how light they're going to be compared to mountain bike gloves, but when I'm driving on the track I can tell you that I don't even notice I'm wearing them (other than my hand sticks to the wheel a lot better, and that allows me to keep a light touch instead of a death grip - death grip is bad!). I guess my Alpinestars do seem a bit lighter than my Puma Furios, but the difference is pretty minimal. Remember - the FIA/SFI gloves have to have some fire resistance, so they're not going to be wafer thin. As long as the glove fits properly, you shouldn't have any issues. Oh, also remember: red gloves are the fastest (+5hp).
