How much actual space would you gain over the oversized trunk already?

The little rise at the rear fender kind of defeats it for me.

I can speak from experience on this one as I daily drove a 2010 Challenger SRT8 for 3 years.
Is the trunk massive? yes absolutely!
Does it matter? not a fucking chance! why on earth would you give a car such a big trunk and then give it such a small awkward useless opening?
A hatchback opening like the car shown above would be much better.

Ah, that makes sense. I googled some images and it looks like at any point there's 6" to 1 foot of space that the opening doesn't open up over, making it really difficult to fill the whole thing up.

The very biggest part of the opening was 18 inches(lengthwise) at best. Believe it or not I could only fit 2 of the tires in the whole trunk. I had to stuff the rest in the back seat.
even if they made the car the exact same as now but with a lift back vs a trunk. it would make the car 10X more practical (have you that you do not buy a challenger for it's practicality).
I could not even fit a BMX in the back of the chally even with the seats down
