Marion Technical Institute senior Ira Gilmore's !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! from those of 104 teens eligible for Honda of Ocala's "Perfect Car for Perfect Attendance" event. He left with a new Honda Civic LX. You know, I had (nearly) perfect attendance in high school, and no one gave me a $22K car.

I had a friend who had literally perfect attendance from 1st to 12th grade. He got a certificate and a 50 dollar gift card to AppleBees.
He apparently got fucking shafted.

My cousin who lives in Virginia went to a high school with awesome after prom parties, where they gave away MacBooks, and even a Hyundai Veloster. Why can't my school do things like that.

Nah, he might not have another car. But he is in floridaso there is a proper way to do this.
Step 1) Go to mazda dealership
Step 2) Trade in civic
Step 3) Buy miata (new or used)
Step 4) Free miata for perfect attendance.
Done.

My high school did the same thing, only I won a set of towels and a clock radio. I felt like the third runner-up on The Price is Right.

I had perfect attendance in 3rd grade. Got a trophy, but that's about it.

The sheer amount of skinny jeans in the room is making him uncomfortable.

I went to my schools after prom this year and won the grand prize. A pair of Ray Bans. Not nearly as cool as a Veloster.

Well, It's more that my small quaker school is about all the "Tis a gift to be simple, tis a gift to be free" whatnot.

Are you serious? Was this in 'Murica? That's nuts. Only one person in my entire school when I was there even had a BMW. They had a 1988 3 series.

He apparently did better than anyone in my school, since either noone had perfect attendance or there were no prizes.

Yup, pretty ridiculous. BMW's were pretty common in the parking lot. A lot of Jeeps and Mustangs too.

Seems kinda crazy to reward behavior that should be the norm.

In some families, there is an older male who is the partner of the mother. We typically call them father or dad.

At my high school, the girl who got perfect attendance got (if I can remember correctly) free memberships to useless things and a $100 gift card to Publix, and possibly a cord.
Not worth it...

Props for pulling that off ... not just the attendance. Also, I feel sympathetic towards him for having a technically problematic first name, too.
