This is awesome, I wonder if I could get my "moped" to pass tech.
I've been slowly building it to pass tech for open drag racing at PIR where I hope to be able to break the 30 second barrier.

I built one of these as well in college. The whole engine seized up after about 2 years. I'd say it was def worth the 200 bucks I spent on it though. The best was riding it on bike to work day!

Ha, I've been planning to do the same thing! Also planning to bring it on ride (your motorcycle) to work day, nothing quite like being able to intelligently troll co-workers.
Although I think the Honda in the background of the picture would be a lot more welcome.

No, they would call that a motorized bicycle, so it wouldn't be allowed. Most of these guys ride Garelli, Tomos, Puch and other defunct moped brands. You talk about a scrappy community! They will smack talk your ride, but will also be the first guys to help you piece it back together. A lot of fun to be had there.

It's like that only you end up making a lot of your own pieces if they break. No replacements for a lot of that stuff.
