Here are some pics my buddy snapped. Just ignore the weird photos (you'll know em when you see em) as we were hoping for a female to be in the photos but I had to improvise.

The improvising was very ingenuitive. But I'll agree, a female would be more suited for those poses in those pics. :p

Very nice, clean car. History? :)

Super clean. My dad bought the car in 1990 ... under the bodywork is a 3.2 911. The Slantnose conversion and audio upgrades were all completed in 1988. My dad probably put about 5k miles on it since he bought it. Seriously.

I moved to San Fran for 4 years and I do not believe it was even turned over. I returned a year ago this month and the rehab project began.

It has been a garage queen it's whole life. So much so that it had tires on it from 1988 until last year. Admittedly I drove on those tires a few times and no scarier thought can go through your head than a 20+ year old tire shredding into a turn.

Many years of patience and love for that car have gotten me to the point where my father and I made an agreement - if I put the money into getting it road worthy the car is under my jurisdiction. Officially, his name is on the title but I pay for the rest of operating the vehicle.

He knew he wasn't going to drive it and it would start wasting away. It needs work in some places - hood alignment is off, mack daddy stereo from '88 is toast (rear seat is gone, 4 10's were installed and probably packed with cocaine with 2 amps under the bonnet - the audio is an electrical nightmare. I haven't tackled yet). Some other electrical gremlins exist (VDO tach does not work. When was the last time you saw tan VDO's?!? So I need to send that out to repair), right blinker does not work, etc.

Front spoiler has a little fiberglass tweaking too it - maybe it was run on a park stop or has warped over the years. I know of a RUF front spoiler here in town so that may soon be on the car. The laundry list is decent for minute little items but mechanically it is a top. Drives better and better since it is actually getting DRIVEN now. Just ticked her over to 15k last month. Bonkers.

Every time I drive it there is a tiny thought in the back of my head about how much my fingers will hurt later after I clean the nooks of those painted BBS RS wheels. Cleaning those are a bitch - and that is an understatement.

I have been working on a little photo diary and write up on the life of this car as it has been sitting dormant for too long. Now that she is getting out there and driven I would like to make public the story of The Slantnose. This car also started my Porsche obsession.

I live that story every day, albeit a little(much) older than that. :p

Kinja'd!!!

I've been putting my money in my dad's(which has now become it's own restoration/refresh project) and it's improving little by little.

This car started my entire Porsche/car obsession. I've got an album of pics I'm starting on my phone to document it's history with me at the wheel. Primarily because any history from '75-2012 is very little to nothing.

I'm working on another long post for it's first trip to maintenance this year. Let's just say I've been driving on a crunched suspension and that a clear bra and much touch-up from the front end is needed.

Nice! We are in very similar shoes! It is fun to finally get behind the wheel of a car you have dreamed about for so many years. Also good for the fun of a parent/child relationship! I am sure he is happy to see his 911 receiving the joy it deserves from one of his own.

While I keep looking to the future of the car I also want to spend some time digging into the past ... finding the original owner and such. But the next chapters for our cars being with us - pretty rad! Congratulations!

Where are you and the 911 located? Be tee dub ... Cookie Cutters! I am a cookie cutter fan.

Thanks! I'd love to look into the cars past! Fortunately I know the original owner; I live with him haha! :)

But sadly that's about all I could tell you about it's history. :(

But nows my chance to give it some new history, a new chapter like you said.

We're located in Michigan, and whileI love the CCs, I wish it had Fuchs! I'm assuming you're on the west coast?

Cookie Cutters for Winter (if it sees any winter weather) and Fuchs for the summer! I know of some Fuchs available if you are on the hunt.

No I am down in Kentucky. My West Coast adventures are over.
