Alright, maybe I'm boasting a little. But these gauges are more amazing than you think. The instrument cluster of this more than 10 year old Volkswagen has its CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OFF!
You may wonder why its so amazing that it is off, but any VAG owner will know that this is a memorable experience, that should be worshiped every time you turn on the car.
Check engine light aside, these awesome little gauges do have some unique characteristics that make them really cool:
-The RPM's are shown by tenths, not in single digits. This is obviously cooler, here os a selection of car that have a double digit Tac as well:
Jaguar XK120/140
Seat Leon Cupra
Ferrari 250 Lusso
Austin Healy
Classic Mini Cooper
Pontiac GTO "Judge"
Just to name a few.
-The blue lighting and the orange needle make fantastic contrast, as if it was made of a flowing material under that light.
-It comically states to use UNLEADED FUEL ONLY. The ONLY being at the bottom because it didnt fit, just like we did with the Titles of our elementary school projects.
- It is simple and easy to read at all times.

I had a mk3 jetta. Your analysis is both spot on and horribly wrong. First of all, if you have either 4-banger, you will never see the CEL light. The diesel and gas motors refuse to die. But the tach is cool. And I kinda almost miss my jetta. 3000$ stance that I daily drove during the worst winter in Michigan in decades. Never got stuck. Never failed to start. Looking back, the little cockroach was a serious trooper.

Something that has to do with the airbags. Like the seatbelt off, airbag on thing. Issue is, the seatbelt on the passenger side is broken and won't return.

Thats a warrior. I mean, I don't know if the light just stopped working. My mechanic who has the scanner told us it was an Emissions crap.

Oh your engine is only at 127k miles? You don't need to worry until 250k. Your VW is just having a midlife crisis. It'll pass.

If I even thought about letting my tank get that low, my fuel pump would burn up. Well, and my gauge is off so I'm out of gas at about an 8th of a tank.

That's because your 'check engine' light broke.
