After 6 months of ownership, I'm finally ready to introduce my car to Oppo! When I picked her up from the second owner in New York, she looked pretty much exactly the same. However, I didn't buy this car to look like I was going fast. I bought this car to go fast. You could say it does that pretty well.
While she looks completely stock (save for the front mount intercooler peek) this car is running completely revised suspension that gives it a tight and flat ride(maybe too stiff for some), and an upgraded turbo that gives her more than 100hp boost over stock levels (325hp at the wheels) all while running a stock exhaust to keep noise to a minimum.
This car is not just a fair weather toy however, with full time AWD, a ridiculously low first gear, and snow tires I had no problem plowing through 2+ feet of heavy snow. No matter how deep the snow was in the unplowed parking lots I love to drift in, I never got stuck once. While I would have preferred a wagon, the price premium and rarity placed on the 1,500 or so manual turbo wagons in this generation was tough to justify. But hey, the sedan has worked out great for me! Just last weekend I took it on a 500 mile road trip to Tuckerman's Ravine in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, averaged 23 MPG and had no problems whatsoever.
Overall I've been extremely impressed with the Legacy GT. It's provided me with tons of thrills without any of the cop attention or boy racer image of a WRX/STI. As an all around all season performance DD I'm very happy with this car.

We need a new Legacy GT Spec V, with twin turbos strapped to the 3.6L flat 6.

This is the only car Subaru has built that you could call beautiful and not be laughed at.
People lament the loss of once pretty Subarus that never existed.

Why didn't you get a new Legacy Gt-Oh wait. That's right. Scooby cut the manual and the WRX motor from the lineup. Because they hate us and want us to suffer.

except for the potholes in the Pitts;)
Is that greylock I see behind that BK?
Head gasket aside, I like my MT 07 legacy non turbo too.

Such a shame... I know 3 people personally who would snap up a turbo subie wagon in a heartbeat if they brought it back.

Because... racecar?
But actually we were in a hurry both ways, racing the sunset on the way up and a reasonable nights sleep on the way back. Otherwise I would have loved to stop by!

Every trip to pitty is good practice for the slalom! Not Greylock but in that range (Also this generation is BL technically) The non-turbo's are great cars for sure, albeit not immune from the classic headgasket woes. Is your legacy a wagon?

Never meant to keep it a secret this long, but I wanted to have some experience with the car and something interesting to say about it instead of useless fanboy just-got-this-car blather.

I'm actually much farther away from you because I'm home from college in the summer. The tragedies just keep on coming!

I always wanted a Legacy GT sedan... Unfortunately now the only ones I can find have waaay too high mileage for me.

not a wagon. But there are several of them down here in NWCT were I'm living now. One guy has his lowered, and his oem 5 spoke painted white. It looks good.

The wagons are very popular in my area as well, there's even one turbo wagon in my town! Would have made him an offer if it was manual. I've considered painting my wheels a slightly darker grey..
