Screw you and your awesome motorcycle-inspired gauges.

Ultra-gauge. Nice. I have one too!

I totally forgot how the Sonic's gauge cluster looks like a 90's Winamp skin. The rest of the interior is fine, but that part always stuck out for me, never liked it.

I still use it, actually. Some of my first experiences on internet forums where actually searching for ridiculous Winamp skins. I can't believe how into it people got.
It's good to see Chevy upholding the tradition.

I love them. A lot. I wasn't sure at first but the super bright needle and such is just the best! I like clear, clean, simple gauges and this works.

Ironic enough, these remind me of skins for one of the more kick-ass players of the late 1990s, Sonique .

The one amazing characteristic of that car...

It also looks nice from the outside and drives really well, so there's that.

Fair enough. I'm sure the RS is a solid little car, I had a standard one as a rental and was overcome by sadness. The gauge cluster was the one thing that I really liked. Reminded me of my Triumph...

That's true for any of these economy cars, the lowest spec rental fleet level is terrible.
The base fiesta is pretty awful, but the ST is great. I had a mid level focus as a rental 2 years ago and hated it, but the Focus ST is nice.

True, however I'm reasonably certain that any spec of Impala LT will be hateful... :)

The new Impala is really great.
The old one was only good upside down. In a ditch. On fire

Unfortunately as a frequent user of Hertz's rental fleet I have thus far only had the distinct pleasure of enjoying the previous generation. Never has so much power been converted into so much noise for so little forward motion.

Obviously the OEM gauges are either insufficient or innacurate. Why else would there be an Ultragauge in there?)

It's there as a boost gauge because for some reason Chevy didn't include one. I also wanted a temperature gauge, but no cars have those anymore

As I said, the OEM gauges are insufficient.

Insufficient isn't the word I would use. Adequate is more appropriate. They're adequate, but I wanted more. I'm an engineer, I like numbers.

I'm not an engineer and like numbers coming form engines to see if there's an anomaly. Basically, same reason.
