So, today the Thunderbirds did their annual show for the US Air Force Academy graduation. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Last year, due to budget cuts the show was cancelled, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

This is what I saw from my neighborhood. It was spectacular. I've seen literally dozens of Thunderbirds' demonstrations, including a private show with the Chiefs of Staff of the US and Russian Air Forces - it NEVER get olds.

Pikes Peak is a great backdrop for anything, but it was really kind of the Thunderbirds to setup these shots for me.

Thanks. You can see a smudge on my sensor in one of the pix. I need to get it cleaned.

My jealousy level is high, I can't imagine how awesome that is to watch especially with that beautiful backdrop!

Indeed it was. I couldn't believe it when they just flew right in front of Pikes Peak! I've been in the stands at the Academy to watch also, but traffic is a nightmare on graduation day.

You need a telephoto potato.

LOL! This was with my Canon EOS and a 200 mm lens. It's not stabilized, so it kicks out so-so pictures.

Then they must have been a long way off! Crank down the aperture and it might help.

They were probably 2 miles away I'd say. Maybe more at times.

That's a long reach for a 200mm.
