I can understand people not liking the Ford GT but this individual seems to hold it in quite low regard. $kay, you'll definitely want to read this one.

If you don't like the Ford GT, I'd rather not know you.

He called a GT a boulevard cruiser. The rest of his words are invalid.

I saw a gorgeous red w/ white striped version this morning. He got over before I could and got on it - sounded like sex

The amount of pure ignorance in that thread is staggering.

If you're going to call the GT a boulevard cruiser, everything that's street legal is a boulevard cruiser.

St. Louis. He dipped in behind me as we sat in traffic going from 270 to 70 West.
The right 3 lanes (6 lanes total) are a mess in the morning because of the moron drivers, I usually get over 4 or 5 lanes to get around the crap, and then get all the way back over to get off. I was hoping I'd get over first, and he'd get next to me and punch it, but seeing it accelerate as I was going slow (30) was still nice.
his plate was "GT MK IV"

Yes, it's in a friend's car storage facility in Troy, Michigan. The one up front is his personal car. The picture in my post is also from his facility. Needless to say, he knows a lot of GT owners.

Wow, I'm really flattered - a whole thread based on me describing the GT as " the shit one". Yikes - I'd better clear some things up before there's a mass shooting....
Compared to the GT40 the GT is always going to be "the shit one", just as Diet Coke is the "shit one" when compared to regular Coke. That's not to say it's shit per-se but compared to it's Ferrari-bashing forbearer it kinda is and as for describing it as a "Boulevard cruiser" most of them are. I had one for a couple of days years ago when I worked for a magazine and the GT was good, bit agricultural perhaps and didn't really feel "special" but overall not bad and better than a 360. I do really like it though, in fact I'm a "Ford guy" and have owned plenty of their cars over the years (and a number of personally imported American ones!!).
As for hating America - my good lady is from Cali so best not let the in-laws hear that.

You're welcome. I thought I'd share your ignorance with others.
Your "the shit one" reasoning is ridiculous. I still don't understand why one has to be "shit one." Shit implies that the car is absolutely terrible, which neither is. Why not just say the GT is not as good as the GT40 in your opinion?
Also, you never answered my question of how you felt uncomfortable in the GT but not the GT40, when the GT40 is smaller than the GT.
Your "boulevard cruiser" statement is terrible. So what if people only drive them on the street at legal speeds. The same thing happens with nearly ever other sports car, if they're driven at all.
What magazine did you work for? I ask because you either you put absolutely no effort into your posts on Jalopnik or your grammar is simply horrendous.
Didn't feel special? A bit agricultural? Overall not bad? Are you serious? If you don't consider 550 supercharged hp, a beautiful body, wonderfully talkative steering, and one of the best manual transmissions ever made all combined into one car special, then you have problems. I mean geez, even EVO Magazine named it its 2005 Car of the Year, which is rare because citizens of the UK love to make our cars the butt of their jokes.
What Ford cars do you/have you owned? Also, I highly doubt people who consider themselves "Ford guys" would refer to the GT as "the shit one."
I never said you hated America, I simply asked if you considered the GT worse than the GT40, in part, because the former was built by Americans while the latter was done by the British. Also, I'm glad you have someone in your life who has the patience to put up with your obnoxiousness.

So many questions - I have time to kill and shall try and answer them....Love Ford's and and off the top of my head I've had Lotus Cortina, Cortina Lotus (they're different!), RS3100, RS2000, Injection Special, Zodiac, Sapphire Cosworth, Taunus 80, Granada Scorpio Cosworth....there's prob a few more but I'm old and forgetful. Current cars; V60R, XKR, A8 Quattro Sport, XJ-S Insignia and the Rover Sterling thats someone mentioned earlier and is a bit of fun. You asked about my employer in the road test days....there's an irony in the magazine you mentioned - we shared an office! Current employer is based at Whitley and I used to work at Gaydon....you're smart so can figure that out. I'll give you the tour if you ever pass this way.
Had a few yanks - Malibu, Grand Pris, Camaro, Trans Am, Firebird Formula, MKVIII and a 'burban. All fucking dreadful whilst being great at the same time! Boulevard cruiser evidently lost in translation - it's a poseurs motor, just like Lambos, Fezzas and the like. Why would that cause offence? I wasn't aware that Europeans took the piss out of yank cars?II know Caddy get a slating but c'mon, they're pretty bad.....I had an sts once....o
