I predicted as soon as I heard Kimi was going back to Ferrari that we would fully, completely, and unequivocally retire from F1 at the end of the season, if not before. I get the same sense watching him this season that I got watching him in 2009. He's just not fully engaged. In fact, I'm not even sure he cares. Given Ferrari's problems and the rumors that Alonso is shopping for a new seat, I feel more than ever that our favorite mumble-mouthed Finn is going to leave the sport forever.
Whatcha think?
Found this on Bleacher Report, known around the world for their insightful F1 coverage. If those dudes are feeling it...

Kimi & Heikki's vispipuuro food truck, coming to SXSW 2015.

I can never really tell if he's engaged or not. But I hope he doesn't retire.

If Fernando wants to leave, then Kimi is driver #1. Wouldn't Kimi want that?
Also, where would Fernando go?

So frustrating to see him have to pit after having 3rd place shortly on Sunday.

McLaren. I bet with the new Honda powerplant, they will be looking to upgrade to the best driver they can find.

Who gets kicked out then?

I think Button's career is over. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get the boot.

I think McLaren will be putting Button out to pasture soon. I know he'll stay on as director of driver development or something along those lines. He's too well-loved in Britain and has HUGE cachet in society. He'd be the perfect elder ambassador for the team. But get Alonso to help develop Magnussen and get the team back into the points with the 2015 Honda-powered car.
That said, I still think Kimi is too jaded to compete at that level. He's not even incidentally entertaining these days. He seems off.
So in 2015 for Ferrari, I think maybe Perez, who's shown some amazing development this season with Williams, and one of the kids from the backmarkers who shows real promise. Bianchi has been damned impressive in a terrible car this season. Hulkenberg still deserves a shot at the big time too.
The wild card for Ferrari is Vettel. I wouldn't put money on him NOT driving for them at some point.

He has to follow his idol's path eventually.

I have to wonder if erratic driving isn't the root cause for a lot of these frustrating mid-race strategy alterations though.

Well kimi is the oldest bloke around F1, so it would make sense, also as others say, he must be bored and doesnt want to continue. But dont know, it also depends if he still needs to work to live by his standards.

Think there's a bit of glossing over as to what happened at Ferrari in 08. Cracked exhausts and development away from Kimi's likes contributed to his woeful performance.

What a problem to have.... being bored with F1 racing. Sheesh, some people just can't appreciate the kick ass shit in their life. Same for the sad faces on the FREAKING PODIUM.

I wonder if Kimi pulls a full Eddie & The Cruisers scheme?

KIMI, ARE YOU PLANNING ON LEAVING F1?!

Perez does not drive for Williams, he drives for Force India. Did you mean Valterri Bottas?

No, I meant Force India. Although Bottas seems to be promising. He's sort of slipped into a bit of an anonymous role this season compared to last, though.

I find myself impressed at the sheer amount of talent on the grid coupled with the hierarchy being flipped with the new regs. Perez has been doing well this year but I'd like to see Hulkenberg at Ferrari as he would then have a chance at a decent team that doesn't need pay drivers.
