I just posted that I am buying an 06 STI turbo back exhaust for my 04 wrx. Earlier when I was reading up on it the internet said it would be fine to do. Now after some more reading I'm finding that the STI has a catless DP. Will I throw a code with this swap and will it cause a problem. I saw something about boost creep. Will this require a tune? Ugh I hope I didn't jump the gun. I can always say no to the sale but I need a catalytic converter that fits my budget.

I don't know with subarus first hand, but you might be fine as long as there is a cat on the rest of the system. You would probably be better served searching NASIOC.com for your answer, as I'm sure someone on that forum has done exactly what you are trying to do.

Nasoic is awesome! Unfortunately I was having a hard time getting search results that I want but will spend some more time tomorrow. Thanks!

If you do throw a code you can go and buy a spark plug defouler and use that to space the sensor out of the stream of exhaust so you won't throw a code, but I think that you should be fine as long as you have the main cat on. You can always try it out and then if it throws a code you can always put the stock down pipe back on. Just search catless downpipes and see what you find.

check out cntracing.com for inexpensive but nice quality parts. I have their catback and it's lasted me three years now. They make catted and catless dps also. Usually if you put on an aftermarket dp you need a tune. Stock sti exhaust should be fine though. You can always check with a local tuner.

I just realized i was wrong. The stock DP does have a cat. The STI has a catless up pipe (which I am not replacing
