I love plecos! I used to have a pair of cute tiger plecos. Image not mine but close to the same fish.

I had one named Sammy when I was a kid. Sammy was an awesome little dude.

My aunt had a pair that she put in an outdoor pond when I was little, they got ridiculously huge and would eat out of your hand.

I heard they would grow proportionally to the size of their tank... mine got pretty large but I always wondered how far that could be taken... Today I learned.

I love bottom feeders, for some reason. I've had a few plecos, and lots of different catfish. Raphaels, upside-down, pictus, eclipse, ghost, bumble bee, etc. If Petsmart has it, and it's a catfish, chances are I've owned one.

He was. AND I thought I killed him twice, but he stayed alive. I thought everything in the tank had died off besides plants, so I drained it down to an inch of water above the gravel, no light to do a re-plant and water change. Left it like that for about a month. Filled it back up, added some really nice angelfish and then saw him a week later swimming around happily. I did a similar thing at a different point in time. I also used to have a pleco that was 15 inches long.

They're tought little buggers, for sure. I used to put one in my dog water drum (30 gal or so) over the summers to keep the algae out, he always came out bigger than when I put him in, and healthy to boot.

Yeah, when the big drought came a few years back, dried the outdoor ponds, and killed them, she said the corpses were pushing 3ft.

I caught a bottom feeder once. It was too big for a tank though.

Sturgeon! Nice catch! And yeah, unless you live in a Cabela's, that won't go in your aquarium.

This fish creeeeeeeped me out when I was a kid with an aquarium. I don't know why, but I just really didn't like them.

Thanks man!!! In BC Sturgeon fishing is a catch and release affair, so he's back out there swimming away happily somewhere. Dinosaur fish is dinosaur like. Those ridges man!

Everybody has something along those lines. I had two, my mom collected clowns, and my dad's stuffed deer on the wall...the eyes always felt like they followed you.
