someone get me a gas mask... The aftermath below.
only three little sections ended up nicely without paint. Waste of time, brain cells, and lung tissue. I'll need to try something else... Any suggestions?

Steel wool.

You don't need to remove all the paint to get the surface paint worthy, just roughed up a bit.

1 open the doors and get a large fan.
2. remove wheels so that splatter doesn't get on the paint.
3. I tried this once to remove a coating on rims. Oven cleaner. Stripped it down to bare metal. * try applying to a small dot.

i should clarify I did that to remove a coating put on AL 914 rims. Not sure of C4 composition or how they would react. From what I've heard its the nuclear option.

are you insinuating that I'm a dipshit? Because you'd be absolutely correct.
EDIT: haha I see what you mean. That's a good idea, just a bit costlier and a good long drive. Maybe over summer I'll do that.

No, he's saying drive over a dip at 40mph as a way to force yourself to buy new rims

I really need to do a burnout. Once I get the damned thing legal, tires will roast. Roast, I say! If only I could get wheel paint to do the same...

This is gonna turn into a beautiful clean beast! Love it!

True, it's just that painting them will be really hard because of the shape of the sections and ridiculously polished face that nothing will adhere to.

A bunch of masking tape and an xacto knife is all you should need. You aren't painting the polished bit right?

You're probably right. I meant no tape will adhere to the polished face, so it's tricky to mask it. Also, so many little segments. Maybe I should just try to paint the little spokes in between haha
