Yesterday I got this contraption into this functional mock-up... I've been working on this custom device- off and on, mostly off- for just over a year, in order to complete a particular car mod. Can you guess what this will be used for ?

That mod has been on the drawing board since August of 2012, but it's been continually interrupted by accidents, natural disasters, and medical emergencies. In fact it was just a year ago yesterday that an earlier iteration of this very device landed me in hospital, and precipitated an illness that ruined the entire modding season of 2013.

So to celebrate and share my joy, here's a chipmunk on my deck, literally stuffing his face!

If anyone worries that it looks like another accident waiting to happen (because it does,) I'll point out here that I am planning to 'gate' it around the outside... likely within the hour.

So close; similar concept (make things spin about and alter their aspect), but NO!

Thanks for playing though! =)

Excellent!

Polish the "polished ring", anyway... effing "Drag" wheels, they look nice, but just corroded to shit in a year (and I'm going to powder coat them as well).

I've tried it with the rim on there and turning it by hand, but it was never going to work if not motorized in some way.

I was going to guess you're building your own overdrive crank pulley to get more boost from your supercharger, or you are hiring a permanent, live-in DJ.

Yup, well a dealer anyways, MB doesn't sign my paychecks. What was your position?

I worked 11 years in the MBNA Midwest PDC (in Carol Stream IL,) picking parts and some data entry in the later years. I was fired in '95, which turned out to be the best thing for me, but I've got tons of 'memorabilia'.

And I got to sit in a Sauber C9!
